Educational Classes
Are you thinking about starting your own business or are you in business and
wanting to expand? Then this series is a must. In its tenth year, this
series has helped hundreds of start-up and expanding businesses along the
road to success. A collaboration between Schoharie Chamber of Commerce, SUNY
Cobleskill, Cobleskill Partnership, Inc. and the Schoharie County Planning
and Development Agency/Industrial Development Agency (IDA).
Entrepreneur Certificate Program $30/class or $150 for six classes leading
towards the Entrepreneur Certificate.
Take three of the following required (*) classes and three of the rest to
receive an Entrepreneur Certificate. Completion of all requirements entitles
you to a discount on the classes. You will also be eligible to participate
in the Schoharie County's revolving loan fund and the business mentoring
program; receive small business publications including local, regional and
state resources and reduced rates for consulting services.

WHAT IS BIG? A small group of local business owners and professionals committed to promoting business development in Schoharie County.
WHAT DOES BIG DO? Provide one-on-one counseling services for existing and start-up businesses. BIG also offers small businesses access to men and women from a variety of backgrounds and skills that include sales, marketing, management, finance, legal, IT, HR, accounting, manufacturing, and business administration.
WHY CONTACT BIG? If you want to expand your business, are struggling to survive, or want to start a business, BIG counselors can help you. Their wisdom, knowledge and experience assure you of getting good advice and guidance. BIG counselors are local business people with a variety of experience plus access to many valuable contacts and resources in NYS and nationally.
WHAT DOES IT COST? Nothing! BIG counselors are volunteers with a passion for helping small businesses grow and a passion for expanding the economic base in Schoharie County.
WHAT ABOUT CONFIDENTIALTY? Sessions with BIG counselors are always strictly confidential.
